Based in Luxembourg, Aquarius AFF is a wholly owned subsidiary of all-cargo airline Cargolux, dedicated to aerial firefighting.
Cargolux is building on its operational expertise and high safety standards to develop its aerial firefighting activity. True to its pioneering spirit, Cargolux is venturing into new territory, targeting a niche market.
Aquarius Aerial Firefighting aims to alleviate some of the lacking capacity for aerial firefighting in Europe and further afield.
The new venture aims to provide assistance in the fight against devastating wildfires that threaten natural resources, wildlife, human lives, and property while significantly contributing to global CO2 emissions worldwide. In 2022, wildfires emitted around 1.54 billion tonnes of carbon globally.
